Timing

Well--I've spent most of my time today still stuck on timing. Back and forth, trying out different things. I have concerns, but I think I'm going to keep my mouth shut and see if anyone says anything.

Other than that, I've started with the feet and am going to work my way up. It always helps to have the feet planted and not sliding all around. :P So yeah--everything else hasn't been touched, just the timing and the feets. The anticipation part I know is just dead in the water static--just for now, definitely going to fix that, probably when I add in the end reaction.

  1. the feet are lookin' good. no sliding or anything. I especially like the ball of the feet bouncing at the beginning, that looks great!

i know you said you haven't worked on the other parts of the body yet. but i just wanted to mention this before i forgot it; I would have norman pause once he's lifted the box all the way up instead of halfway up like he is pausing now. i know you haven't worked on that part yet, just throwing it out there :)

  2. I think this part might be slightly above my head since I know nothing of 3d animation...I don't understand what it means to make the feet not slide...you mean that they stay in the same position? Haha. Anyway, it looks good to me. :)

  3. haha yeah you know..so they're not like..iceskating around. I'm such a freak--when I watch cartoons I'm always looking at the feet. Like I'll be able to do something about it if I see them sliding. hahaha

And Tanith, I'm not sure where your talking about when he pauses half way but I think it's what I've been thinking about but didn't want to mention and see if anyone said something. At the end when he picks it up all the way..I thought at that point it would be more like a heave ho kinda thing--get it up fast and throw it down fast since it's so heavy. I'd need to make the heave ho part more obvious though. But that's why I put the pause when he was only half way up--even though it's probably not so visible from this playblast, the box is actually sitting on the step when he pauses. I thought that would be the resting point for when he really hauled ass and got it up those steps.

    What do you think?

  4. ohh okay, I didn't realize he sets the box down on the steps! yeah, that's what I was talking about.

i think that's a very good plan to have him pull it up real quick and then cuz he's gone up so fast he has to catch his balance, and that's when it will take longer to move forward. but see, you knew that all along ;)
