Surfing in December

I think it would be a safe to assume that these surfers were a lot warmer than I was at 7 am in December on the beach in Malibu. I drove out to Surfrider before work to catch some friends surf; during what was supposed to be the biggest swell since 1969. Well, not so much as it turns out. The horizon was definitely jagged so probably a little ways up near Point Dune we would of seen bigger waves.

I shot JPG (I know, I know) and now I'm definitely seeing the difference in quality. I'll have to make sure I upgrade my computer so it'll read RAW. I took a good 200 shots, mostly continuous shooting to catch the action. It was also hard to keep track of my friends out there amongst every other surfer in a black wetsuit.I'm not overly thrilled with the outcome, but here are a few.
