Slate End Test

I'm going to post this video because that's what this blog is supposed to be, progress. I did this slap comp of the animation I had in mind for my ending logo and I wanted to check out how well it would interact with  my 2D elements. Good thing I did because obviously there are quite a few issues with this.

Right off the bat I'm thinking the camera moves that looked good in Maya probably aren't going to look so great without some kind of 3D space for it to live in. I'm not sure I want to add dimension to my background at all. I do intend on casting shadows but I don't think that will help the situation.  So, the beginning camera move will probably have to go.  The end move works well though.

I'm having difficulty coming up with an idea for the Z. I don't think this version is working. Perhaps if I tone it down so it's not so busy.

And overall I'm going to pull the camera back a bit and fix the composition. Obviously the end is not where I want it to be.
