Would you like to go dancing?

Alrighty--as per your suggestions here is my newest playblast. And I'm not going to say anything about it, hehe. ;)

In other news--I saw my friend Ryans band Gilgongo the other night in the city. Great band--all should check them out on my myspace. And once again, they were amazing and played one of my favorite songs of theirs--23 Skiddoo. I have been trying to use this song for my demo reel since college. It's hard because of the lyrics and I've tried to get my hands on a version minus the lyrics, but unfortunatly they don't have it. But, I still love it! So--I've been brainstorming and put together a mock up of a possible demo using this song. The only clip in this whole movie that I was concerned about was my dancing piece--so I placed that where I thought it fit best. The rest of it all is just throw in just as place holders. I thought I could tweek the dance footage so that the radio sound of the song was more during the radio/bum shot of course. That would be sweet and easy to do. But I wanted to make sure that my dance went with the beat of the music, and I think it's pretty good. So then I got to dreaming about other animations to do and combining them with my open--which it totally offbeat and would have to change. Something with a bouncing ball and, dancing. :D Basically--a whole shit load of work is ahead of me, if you guys like this song for my next demo. :D Of course I still love the Beatles song I have now but this song is original and I know the band so I could get there permission alot easier than contacting the Beatles. ;) Which makes this song even nicer to use! I don't know that it works though--what do you think??

  1. Ya know what, I was talking with Paige and we were acting it out (haha that's how into it we are!) And we think that since it's such a heavy box, the guy would actually come down WITH it, like, he's still holding onto it pretty intensely while he's setting it down. It might make it look better at the end. That's really the only part that looks awkward. The rest of it is totally ready to get the ease in's and ease out's!

I'd just pay attention to what your body does when you set down something heavy. He's not really dropping it, he's putting it down. I know sometimes I come down onto my knees after pushing something up onto the last stair. Maybe his arms should stay on the sides for a few seconds before he brings them down (not so much drops them, but brings them down quickly).

This is looking to be one of your best pieces, Ally! I'm so excited!

Oh, and for some reason, I can't hear any music on your reel... o.0
